The other thing I have been trying to figure out is meals for Emma. If anyone has some good, kid-friendly meal ideas, please share! I also know that I should be encouraging her to learn to eat with a spoon and drink out of a cup more on her own, but sometimes I'm too lazy since it is SO messy. The other day Jared handed her the spoon and the rest of the yogurt and we just let her go to town. WOW. I think she got a little bit in her mouth when she licked her fingers. Maybe. So if anyone has some tricks or tips to help with that, they would be much appreciated, too!

Figuring things out
I love that Emma's hair is growing, I really do. But sometimes I'm just not sure what to do with it! She hasn't left headbands in for months, and has recently discovered the barretts on the side and pops them into her mouth. We do the ponytail on top of the head if anything. Any suggestions? I also wanted to share a picture of how awesome her hair looks AFTER the hair elastic is taken out of her hair- cute, huh?

Emma's Birthday Party
The day after Emma's birthday, we left her with Jared's parents and headed to Salt Lake for a weekend away. It was a lot of fun! We were able to go to a session at the Salt Lake City Temple(I've never been before), go to a University of Utah men's basketball game, eat at the Macaroni Grill and at Tucano's Brazilian Grill. The food was all good, but Tucano's was AMAZING. They bring you more and more food until you literally can NOT take another bite. And all of it was delicious! I'm really a slacker with the camera, especially when Emma isn't there for us to take pictures of(I really need to be better), so I really didn't get any pictures of our weekend! But it was a lot of fun!
After we got back, we had Sunday dinner and Emma's cake and presents with all of Jared's family. I got a cake pan in the shape of the number one since I wasn't sure how great of a cake decorater I would be. But while we were gone, his mom and our nephews and niece made and decorated Emma's cake for her party, so I didn't even have to worry about it. It turned out really cute!

Thanks everyone for all her fun toys and cute outfits! She is one happy girl!

Jared has been working hard...
And he actually finished this project over a month ago, but I just realized I haven't posted pictures! The ducts in our basement were uncovered and just made it look a little unfinished, so he agreed to drywall them. Wow, he is a good man! I had no idea how much work was involved in this project, but I think he is amazing that he did it all! Thanks, Kyle, for coming and helping with the plaster!
First he had to build a frame around the ducts...
Then drywall it...
Then plastering, texturing, priming and painting to get to the end result!
(I know it is hard to see in this picture, but it looks GREAT!!)

A new poll... boy or girl?
I might be getting a little ahead of myself, but I thought it would be fun to see what everyone thinks we are having!
