Ballroom Dancing

I just realized that I have never blogged about the ballroom dancing classes that Jared and I took. There were three Saturday classes, and we had our last class on Saturday. The teacher also taught a Salsa class right after the ballroom class, so Jared and I stayed for those, too. In three classes we learned the waltz, foxtrot, tango, mambo, salsa, cha-cha, merengue and bits and pieces of a few others. I am very spoiled because my husband was one of probably three guys who wasn't dragged to class. He was actually very excited about the classes and an excellent dancer.

All of the dances were fun, but my favorite dance was the salsa. I struggled with the Tango the most because for some reason my counting was off and I kept bumping Jared's knee with mine. I also struggled with the Merengue a little bit, too, because it is hard for me to move my hips like that normally, let alone when I am pregnant.

One night, all of the doors leading to the hall with the bathrooms were locked, so we were there for almost 3 hours with no bathroom. Normally that would make me a little nervous since I seem to always be making bathroom runs, but throw in a lot of moving around (we were working on the salsa and merengue), and we have some serious problems. Don't worry, I made it, but I have never been so happy to see my house!

We absolutely LOVE dancing and hope we will be able to keep dancing. It is a lot of fun!

Maternity Bands

My new favorite things are maternity bands! I was starting to get frustrated because I didn't want to buy a bunch of new pants, and the rubber band trick wasn't working on all of my pants, either. My mother-in-law bought me a maternity band for my birthday and I absolutely love it! They are comfortable, easy to use and look cute. I have even been able to use them with my skirts, too. Anyway, I just wish I had known about these for the first 5 months!

Husband Tag

1. What is your husband's name?...........Jared John Daniels
2. How long have you been married?..........1 and 1/2 years
3. How long did you date?.......... We dated 8 months and were engaged for almost 4 months before we got married.
4. How old is he?.........27
5. Who is taller?..........Jared, by several inches.
6. Who can sing best?.........Definitely Jared. He is always singing around the house and in the car. Emma bounces around everytime she hears him sing, and doesn't do that for me, so I'm assuming her vote would be for him, too.
7. Who is smarter?..........Depends, we have different strengths. He is brilliant at math, science, finance and fixing anything.
8. Who does laundry?..........Me, but he always help me fold and hang up stuff.
9. Who pay bills?..........Me, but we do the budget together.
10. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?..........Jared.
11. Who mows the lawn?..........We both do. I hate weed-eating, so I normally mow the lawn while he does the weed-eating.
12. Who cooks dinner?..........Both of us. I probably cook dinner a little more, but Jared loves to cook and he is much more creative than I am.
13. Who's the first to admit that they are wrong?.......... People actually do that? : ) We are both very stubborn, so it is a toss up.
14. Who kissed who first?.......... We don't really agree on this story or the story of who said I love you first. He says he just went 90% so I technically kissed him.
15. Who wears the pants in the family?.......... Jared does a great job of letting me think I am in charge. He is content to let me unless something comes up that he disagrees with. So once in a while, I have a day where I realize I'm not really the boss, but most days I get to think I am.

5 1/2 Months

I had another check-up yesterday. It was just one of those 3 minute ones where they take your blood pressure, measure you, listen for the heartbeat, weigh you(I really wish they wouldn't do that, by the way) and all that fun stuff.

Nothing too exciting happened at the appointment, but the PA was having a hard time isolating Emma's heartbeat without picking up mine, too. By the time she got right over her, she was pressing pretty hard and Emma kicked back HARD. I honestly don't think I have felt her kick that hard yet. I think it startled the PA and the kick was hard enough that the monitor came up off of my stomach for a second. Anyway, I guess Emma doesn't really like doctors. Sorry, Zane, I will work on that with her. : )

I have been feeling guilty because everyone keeps asking for belly pics and I have been a slacker, so I took a picture yesterday when I got home from work. I really didn't want to put one up until I actually looked pregnant, and I definitely do now!

My new baby!

I saw this on a friend's blog... the website to do this is makemebabies.com. I thought it would be good to see what we were getting into! Don't worry, I stopped after doing three of these(the others are in the posts before this), but it was sure fun!

Boy!

Not sure where this dark, curly hair came from!

Girl!

And this is Emma! Interesting, huh?
