I love to see the.... castle?!

Emma loves going to see the temple and seeing pictures of the temple. When she catches sight of it she yells, "TEMPLE!" We were watching Beauty and the Beast the other day, and the previews were playing. Pretty soon she yells, "TEMPLE!!" I turned around to see....

I framed these two quotes to hang on the girls' wall:

"Princess... daughter of a Heavenly King."

"Be strong and of good courage. You are truly royal spirit daughters of Almighty God. You are princesses destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your once upon a time is now." (Pres. Uchtdorf)

I really want them to understand how important they are, that they are really princesses of a Heavenly King. If they really knew their worth they would know they are capable of achieving anything.

So even though the comparison between the temple and the castle might seem a little silly, don't you think it is fitting? As a parent, all I really want is for my "princess" to grow up and be worthy to be in the "castle" so she can live happily ever after...

Home

It isn't as exciting as sledding, playing Wii, going to the movies(Tangled- very cute!), opening presents, cuddling with Grandma & Grandpa, cousins, new toys, etc. that we did in the last week between Jared's parents' house and my parents', but we still like coming home.

Madelyn & Santa

See, she just loves him...

Merry Christmas!!

This is last year's picture, but I love it and it always gives me a good laugh...

Emma feels the same way about Santa this year, too. But Madelyn loved him! Just sat on his lap and looked up at him, grabbed his white-gloved fingers and smiled.

Hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and enjoy the time with your family. I'm so grateful for the Savior and the opportunity this month to teach my children more about His birth and His life. I'm also grateful for my children- their kisses, smiles and laughter; my husband and his unconditional love and friendship; great friends and family; a warm house to live in; ALL that we have been blessed with! I'm truly overwhelmed with gratitude today. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Joy

She was very emotional and decided to put herself in time-out right there. I thought it was a little ironic... (those letters spell "JOY" if you can't see them very well)

Belt Fascination??

As I took this picture of Madelyn, I felt a sense of deja vu and realized it was because I have taken more than one picture of Emma playing with Jared's belts, too. Intersting little fascination, huh? By the way, do you see that Maddie is finally starting to have a little more hair? VERY exciting!

Isn't it ironic?

Jared can spend hours hiking up and down mountains looking for a deer and then last night in a matter of seconds, without ever leaving the warmth and comfort of our car, we can get one? Apparently they aren't THAT hard to find. :)

PS- Don't worry, at the last minute we decided to switch carseats and everything and take the truck. The only damage was a cracked grill cover. It would have been much nastier in the car. Seriously that Dodge is a beast! Counting our blessings...

Loves Lately

Some of the favorite things around our house lately...

Our Christmas tree!! We turn off the house lights and sit next to it every night. Jared cut this one down for us when we were in Howe for Thanksgiving. It is a cedar, and smells SOOO good!

Bathtime! Maddie sits up really well now so she sits up in the bath, too. The girls play really well together in the tub and I LOVE listening/watching them play.

Playing in the snow!!

http://www.mypyramid.gov. Best "diet" ever. It makes eating right pretty simple, even for your kids. I'm loving it and it is helping us a lot.

Crafts. Not usually my thing, but I'm enjoying doing a few things here and there. I made this box in woodshop in 8th grade. I re-painted in and covered the lid with batting and material to match the girls' room. I'm also workng on a quiet book to give Emma for Christmas. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. ;)

P90X. Best/hardest workout I've ever done. Jared and I have been doing this together every morning. And no, my arms don't look like that. Yet. ;)

Bountiful Baskets. We got it on Saturday and these for the fruits and vegetables that I couldn't FIT into my fridge. They gave you a small round laundry basket full of vegetables and a basket full of fruit. So good!

Shutterfly. I have been making Christmas cards, calendars and photo books. They are turning out very cute!

These two pictures. I forgot that we even had them on our memory card and I re-discovered them the other day. We took these just before Halloween at a Pumpkin Festival they had in Kimberly.

Fish?

I don't like seafood. At least I think I don't. I never really try it because the smell of it usually keeps me away. But we are trying to eat healthier and fish is recommended more than once in the different things I've read. So I'm willing to give it a try.

Anyone have any good suggestions? Is there a kind of fish that isn't as fishy? Any good recipes?
