THE GOOD
This morning started at 6am with a 3 mile walk, followed by some good quality time with Miss Maddie before Briggs and Emma woke up.
I taught pre-school at 9 and we had lots of fun.
Then we delivered a birthday gift/cards to a friend, and headed to Wal-Mart.
We were all smiling and content, and there was no rush at the store. No meltdowns, no drama. As close as perfect as it gets spending 1.5 hours in Wal-Mart at lunchtime. The girls even tried on some clothes in the dressing room- which they have never done before and thought was a blast. The gave out full-size applesauces to go, which are my kids favorite treat ever. We got done checking out, and I even let the kids stop to get a drink at the drinking fountain, Briggs included.(I NEVER let that boy walk in the store- he would run everytime). I greeted a friend as she passed by on her way out to her car. Then we started to load back into the cart to head out to the car.
THE BAD
Briggs chose that moment to run. Seriously, he sprinted. The drinking fountain is almost on the North end of the front of the store- he headed South. By the time I took off after him with the girls in the grocery-laden cart, he had a good headstart. Then I lost sight of him. A little old lady sitting on the bench said he headed out the doors. WHAT?! Why would he head outside? Sure enough. And all I could think was, "I wish I knew where Tiffany is!" (the friend I saw at the drinking fountain- I desperately needed a second set of hands/eyes at that moment)
THE WONDERFUL
As I stepped outside I saw Tiffany's car, door flung open sitting in the middle of the parking lot entrance, right in the way of everyone. She "happened" to be driving past those doors as Briggs came out the doors and crossed in front of HER car, of all those cars out there. So she immediately jumped out of her car and grabbed him.
It might seem like a little thing to some people, but I don't believe in coincidences, and I know that Tiffany was sent to Wal-Mart on her lunch break to help me. Briggs probably would have been fine, but I appreciate a loving Heavenly Father who took an opportunity to show me that he was aware and mindful of me and of my children.
