I can't believe it is already June! Summer is here!
The girls started swimming lessons today and love them! They do not, however, love that they are only 30 minutes long. I was given the talk by Emma that she doesn't want me to come get her first, before the other kids' moms get them. They wore their swimsuits home, and then took a 2 hour bath while wearing their swimsuits so they could keep "swimming". Emma took another two hour bath tonight. She is OBSESSED with water and swimming and has been for quite some time. She still says she swims like Missy. (Missy Franklin)
Maddie is happy to FINALLY be old enough to do swimming lessons like Emma. However, she did not want to be in the same class as Emma, she wanted her own teacher. Luckily, they are at slightly different levels, so that is exactly how it worked out. She was so proud of herself today and also completely exhausted. She kept falling asleep in the car and went to bed much more easily than normal.
Briggs, on the other hand, is a little nervous of the water. He is too young for lessons here, but I think it will be good for him to see the girls doing it and loving it. Hopefully we'll get him warmed up to the idea of swimming by the end of the summer. He is still so busy and keeps me on my toes, but he is also listening and understanding better.
I am NESTING. My list(s) just keep growing and growing. Jared is such a good sport about it, and happily helps out. I can't help but wonder, though, if he is secretly counting down so he can have a break from my craziness.
In the last few days(taking Sunday off, of course), we hauled several loads of large rocks, painted both sides of the front door, purchased and installed new door locks on 3 outside doors of our house, mowed/trimmed the lawn, pulled weeds, sprayed for weeds, rototilled garden space, planted a garden, installed a new shelf in bathroom, installed towel hooks in the bathroom, re-arranged the kids' rooms(and moved beds from room to room), created rock walls in a couple of flower beds, re-edged a flowerbed, and created edging for another flower bed. And this is just a few of the things on my list of things that I want to do before the baby comes!
