Friday night we went to a movie with some of Jared's family as part of celebrating his brother's birthday.
Have you paid to go to a movie lately?! It is ridiculous. But we were going anyway, and the movie was actually pretty good. It started at 9, and we aren't late-night people these days, but I was wide awake through the whole thing.
With about 90 seconds of the movie left, the fire alarms in the movie theater started going off. We made our way out of the theater, and followed the crowds all the way back around to the front doors where they told us to re-take our seats and they would start up the movies again. The alarms were still going off, the lights were almost like strobe lights. I had to close my eyes to even sit in there.
As we were sitting there(in an uncomfortable situation that already had everyone's blood pumping and guard up), Jared's mom leaned forward to talk to Jared's brother, who is a police officer (and who always carries his gun), "Derek, do you have your GUN?!" Haha, probably not the best thing to be yelling in a movie theater ever...
Anyway, we decided to just leave and they gave us a cash refund. So we got to watch almost an entire movie for free! Jared said we should flip the fire alarm every time we go. : )
